  1. Using the IB Education to Develop an Christian Model of Ethical Thinking and Behaviour. Chantal McAllister Steve McNutt

  2. Our Motivations for This Presentation • A few years ago, both of us attended on a presentation on biblical integration.  We were disappointed with the fact that there seemed to be a sense that any fealty to academic rigor was frowned upon; rather Sunday school style lessons seemed to be prized. • For us, this seemed to reinforce the negative perception outside of Christianity that the Christian school and  academic excellence were mutually exclusive. • As IB teachers, we felt that there was a need to really challenge this assumption. • Other influences...personal experiences, readings. Objectives

  3. Student Comments: When asked, most, but not all students, believed that the IB program had a positive impact facilitating Christian ethics and behaviour. Independent Engagement of Reading Strategies; Application to real-life situations

  4. What is a Biblical Worldview? Q and A--Socratic method.  1. What is a worldview? 2. How does one maintain a spiritually neutral education program, and still be educating effectively? This is the crux of education – can any education system be “worldview free”? 3.Why does a teachers' worldview matter? 4. What value does a Biblical worldview contribute to the leaner?
