Pharmacy Tech Training Program | CNA Training Classes in Flint Michigan “Pharmacy Technicians play an important role in the health care delivery system and it is our goal to make Charter Health Care Training Center graduates indispensable members of the team!” Dena Scully, BBA, CPhT Director, Pharmacy Technician Program Pharmacy Technician Training Program The Pharmacy Technician Program prepares students for entry-level pharmacy technician positions in a variety of pharmacy practice settings. The curriculum consists of 17 weeks of interactive classroom instruction and hands-on practice in our state-of-the-art pharmacy simulation lab, followed by 160 hours of clinical externship training in local pharmacies. The Pharmacy Technician Program at Charter is designed to meet the rigorous accreditation standards of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ASHP/ACPE). Pharmacy Tech Training Program | CNA Training Classes in Flint Michigan Course content includes: Medication Order Entry & Fill Process Pharmacology for Technicians Patient and Medication Safety Pharmacy Law and Regulations Pharmacy Quality Assurance CPR for Health Care Providers Pharmacy Math Sterile IV Drug Preparation/Aseptic Technique Non-Sterile Drug Compounding Insurance Billing and Reimbursement Inventory Management Customer Service Excellence Upon completion of this course, students will be well prepared to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certi?cation Exam (PTCE) offered through the Pharmacy Technician Certi?cation Board (PTCB). During the program, students will have many opportunities to take practice exams that will help prepare them to succeed on the national exam and earn the title Certi?ed Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). At Charter, you can quickly complete your training in as little as 5-6 months. In addition to learning in an interactive classroom environment, you will obtain hands-on experience in our newly renovated pharmacy simulation lab. Here you will practice preparing prescriptions in a realistic environment that replicates community and hospital pharmacy settings. In addition to processing outpatient prescriptions, you will be trained in the preparation of sterile IV admixtures and non-sterile drug compounding.
