  3. Someimportantfacts: • 25 classes • 805 students • 51 teachers • 5 differenttypes of theclasses

Ourclasses • a six-gradeclass (afterfinishingthe 6th grade of primaryschool) withscienceorientation • 3 five-grade-classes: - a bilingualGermanclass - a bilingual English class - a classwithapreparatorylanguagelearningyear ( ahalf of theclassstudiesGerman and theotherhalf English) • a four-gradeclass (withagenaral curriculum)

  5. Important remarks • Everybodywhowishestocometoourschool. (exceptforthegeneral curriculum class) has totake an entranceexam. • Everybody has tostudy 2 languages. • Inbilingualclassestherearesomesubjectsin English/German. • Inthelast 2 years of theeducationeverybodycanchoose 2 subjectswhichtheylearnin2 more lessonstoobutit is notcompulsorytochoose

  6. Ourtraditions • Wehave a Kölcsey uniform butweonlyhavetowearitonspecialdays • Wehave a „freshmenparty” forthenewclassesinourschool, itincludesafunnycompetition, avow and a ball. • Wecommemorateallournationalcelebrations. • Wehave a commonChristmascelebrationonthelastdaybeforewinterholidays.

BeforeChristmaswecollectour old toys and clothesforthekidslivingwithoutparentsinchildren’shome. • There is a ‘ribbonpinningceremony’ fortheschoolleaverswhentheygetasmallblueribbontowearontheirclothesto show everybodythattheyhavetotaketheirmaturaexamssoon. • Wesayfarewelltothemon a nicecelebrationwhentheywalkalongthecorridors and say ‘goodbye’ toschoolandyoungerstudents.

  8. Students’ life • It is organizedbythestudents’ selfgovernment. • Weare „eco”-school and havedifferentprogrammestoraisestudents’ awarenesstowardstheproblemes of Nature • Wehave a schoolradio, theybroadcasteverydayinthebreakfastbreak. • There is a 24-hour-movie.marathon everyyear

Wevoteforsome ‘bests’ of theactualscholyear (thebeststudent; thebestteacher …) • The largestventure of theselfgovernment is the ‘students’ weekorganizedeveryautumn, therearesometraditionalevents of it, suchasGerman and English afternoons, The stage is yours…. • And of courstherepresentative(s) haverightstotake part ineverythingwherestudents’ interestsareaffected, letit be those of allorjustindividualstudents.
