Course objectives

Course Objectives

  • Introducing key clinical and technical concepts prior to the start of clerkships

  • Mitigate concerns of medical students prior to their clerkships

  • Develop a course geared towards all medical students, not just ones interested in a surgical career

  • All courses cater to medical students considering a surgical career

  • 18 Sessions total

  • 7 Technical skills sessions

  • 5 Didactic sessions

  • 4 Case presentations

  • 2 Panels

  • Schedule and syllabus are included in your packet

Requirements

Requirements

  • No more than three excused absences

    • Contact Amita if you are going to be absent

    • The course is cumulative

  • Class time is limited – outside preparation and practice will be necessary

  • Participate in surveys and testing

  • Comments and suggestions are welcome
