What is an IP? • An IP is a tailored program created for a specific juvenile. • Tailored to and for a juvenile’s needs, behaviors, and charges. • Based on previous and current behaviors. • To assist that juvenile in maintaining a skill set to utilize while in detention as well as throughout their lives.

Inappropriate behaviors Aggressiveness Noncompliance Self harm Suicidal Tendencies Juvenile Court Officer’s (JCO) request Lower Level Functioning Violence towards others Learning Disabilities Attention Seeking Behaviors Anti Social Behaviors Etc… Why are juveniles placed on an IP?They have not been able to successfully participate in CIJDC’s daily program, due to:

  4. Goals of an IP • Behavior modification • Teaching pro social behaviors • Skill Building • Engaging critical thought development • Successful participation in CIJDC’s daily program
