  3. “Medical Technology (MT) is a paramedical field for which the student prepares in chemistry, biology, hematology and related disciplines. Well-trained and certified Medical Technologists can enter careers in clinical laboratory work, academic research, public health, teaching and the pharmaceutical industry.”

  4. Medical technologists play a crucial role in analyzing samples collected from patients in order for a doctor to make the right diagnosis. What Exactly Do Medical Technologists Do?

  5. All patient samples doctors collect like blood, saliva, urine, feces, etc. are taken to their labs to be examined by medical technologists.

  6. ● Tissue samples are prepared and cultured by medical technologists.

  7. They use the samples collected by doctors to detect abnormal components in the bodily fluids that can be a red flag for a disease or infection.

  8. Blood transfusions cannot be done (at least not safely) without the assistance of a medical technologist.
