  2. Definition • Parallel Lines- two non-vertical lines are parallel if they have the same slope. All vertical lines are parallel.

  3. Write the slope-intercept form of an equation for the line that passes through (4, -2) and is parallel to the graph of .

  4. Definition • Perpendicular Lines- Two non-vertical lines are perpendicular if they product of their slopes is -1. That is, the slopes are opposite reciprocals of each other. • Example :

  5. Write the slope-intercept form for an equation of a line that passes through (4, -1) and is perpendicular to the graph of 7x – 2y = 3.

  6. Write the slope-intercept form for an equation of a line perpendicular to the graph of 2y + 5x = 2 that passes through (0, 6).
