  1. Destiny Training 5

  2. Communicating with Children • This may mainly involve telling a story, conducting pre-planned drama or teaching an objective lesson. • Do not read the story but narrate it from memory or live it. • Make it interesting but keep cool in the presentation to make it as real as possible. • Do not use a monotone but vary your voice to keep the attention of the children.

  3. Communication • Use body movements, gestures and speak clearly to animate your presentation and maximize children’s attention. • Minister the important things: get what is to be ministered and emphasize that. • Know God’s Word for the kids at that point in time. • Don’t just tell the story but apply it to the lives of the children so that it may work.

  4. Prepare • Two things you need as you minister • God’s anointing • God’s blessing • You need to prepare yourself before you minister to children and not just to prepare the message. This means spending time in prayer, seeking and listening to the Lord.

  5. Ministering the Holy Spirit • Act 1:8 But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 19:20; Rom. 1:6; Eph. 1:19; Col. 1:10,11).

  6. The Holy Spirit • word ‘power’ appears many times through the Bible. • Not to be spooky in presenting the Holy Spirit. • He is a person: you can feel Him, hear Him and see what He does just as you may experience wind. • Be real and objective in presenting Him. • Children can only be filled with the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God and not according to feelings or emotions.

  7. He is a person whom the Father sends: • Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. • You will receive power when He comes: • Act 1:8 But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

  8. How to experience the Baptism of the Holy Spirit Act 2:4 And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. • All were filled with the Holy Spirit • All began to speak in tongues • The Holy Spirit gave the words • The Holy Spirit put the Word inside them

  9. Ministering the Holy Spirit • 1Co 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. For no one hears, but in spirit he speaks mysteries. • You do not need to understand what you are speaking – only God understands • 1Co 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. • 1Co 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the mind; I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the mind.

  10. Ministering the Holy Spirit • It is your decision to speak in tongues, the Spirit does not speak against your will. • Luk 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? • You take the initiative to ask for the Holy Spirit • Lay your hands on the child and pray that they receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  11. Ministering the Holy Spirit • You should not entertain any doubt as you pray for hem but believe and he will receive. • You may need to space ministering salvation and ministering the Holy spirit otherwise it may be too much for them at once.

  12. Encouraging children to operate in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit • Prepare yourself and other leaders to be ready to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. • Expecting a release of God’s anointing in the meeting enabling you and the children to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Do not be afraid that children may do something you cannot handle. • Teach on the gifts and how they operate. Be prepared to speak yourself and express word of knowledge.

  13. Gifts of the Holy Spirit • Arrange your meeting in such a way that you can allow the Holy Spirit to operate at any time. • Start with praise songs to win the attention of the children and move towards more expressive and worship songs. • You may also do with the assistance of anointed musicians • Be in faith and allow your faith to actively operate and deal with or do away with anything that does not bear faith in the service.
