  5. Vocab – Notes! The next 10 slides have your vocab for this unit. Look Think Explain Check Be thinking about hand motions for the words!

  6. Ss groups will review the words and decide if they need to revamp their prediction based on the words that are in their list. Invincible Part of speech: Adjective Definition: Unbeatable

  7. Demeanor Part of Speech: Noun Definition: the way a person appears to be or acts towards others

  8. Fealty Part of Speech: Noun Definition: loyalty or faithfulness

  9. Quest • Part of Speech: Noun or Verb (depending on use) • Definition: (to) search or journey to find or achieve something

  10. Damsel • Part of Speech: Noun • Definition: a young woman, usually of noble birth

  11. Vanquish • Part of Speech: Verb • Definition: to defeat or overcome

  12. Foreshadow • Part of Speech: Verb • Definition: to hint about something beforehand

  13. Bionic • Part of Speech: Adjective • Definition: having normal body parts or abilities changed by robotics

  14. Distress • Part of Speech: Noun (can also be a verb) • Definition: great pain, anxiety or sorrow

  15. Cretin • Part of Speech: Noun • Definition: an obnoxious or foolish person

Morquio Syndrome • With your group: Read the article • Highlight important information (definition, how you get it, problems you recognize in Kevin’s description already, etc.) • Discuss what you think the most difficult complication would be. • If you finish early, visit the Anchor Activity Area. • We will discuss what you learned in 7 minutes.

  39. Closing Activity Write a paragraphabout how your life would changeif YOU had Morquio Syndrome. A paragraph means AT LEAST THREE SENTENCES. NONE of those sentences should start with the word ‘and’. • Think about: • Diseases are expensive. • Would your home would be easy for someone with this condition to live in? • What activities would you have to give up if you had this sickness? • What daily things do you think would be harder for you to do?
