MARKETING. Club Sports Goal & Slogan . In FY2013, club sports wants to build exposure, interest, and awareness to not only the student body, but also the surrounding community. We can achieve this goal by effective marketing with contribution from each club.

Club Sports Goal & Slogan • In FY2013, club sports wants to build exposure, interest, and awareness to not only the student body, but also the surrounding community. • We can achieve this goal by effective marketing with contribution from each club. • “Find out what you’re made of” slogan will be utilized this upcoming school year. • Used to build image and brand of club sports. • Wanted a slogan that is tied to club sports.

  3. GENERAL POLICIES • Approval of all marketing materials • Photographs • Club practices and competitions • Any member may have their picture taken at any point to be used for marketing purposes. • UREC services are requested via e-mail • Information you need to know • Type of media (photo, poster, brochure, t-shirt, etc.) • Description (ideas, design requests, etc.) • Due date (allow at least two weeks) • Number/Size/Color (if applicable)

  4. ARKANSAS LOGOS • Includes any items being purchased with the word “Arkansas” or any type of Razorback image. • Needs to be sent through licensing and trademark approval by Athletics Dept. • Orders must be placed through the University Recreation office • Licensed vendors must produce these items being purchased. • If procedures are not followed, club may be subject to immediate suspension.

  5. Flyers & Handouts • Clubs are not permitted to make their own flyers and posters without approval from Club Sports Administration. • Must be approved by Shannon before anything is used, printed, or distributed. • Printing must be done through UA printing services. • DO NOT distribute fliers to any locations without prior approval. • Cars, telephone poles, etc. • University Recreation will be able to assist in printing and design of material. • Disclaimer must be added

  6. UREC DESIGN ELEMENT • Must be added to any printed material • If items being printed are too small to use the regular design element, a modification may be made with approval • If advertising for another company, UREC design element must be included.

  7. Media • ALL media correspondence must be preapproved by Shannon before it is conducted or published. • If club is approached by media source for comment, contact Club Sports Administration for assistance and approval prior to speaking. • Simple text message is acceptable. • Failure to get prior approval before speaking to media will result in disciplinary action. • If you wish to submit articles to Newswire (Highly encouraged), please contact Club Sports Administration. • Our Public Information Coordinator will assist with editing and publishing of article.

  8. Media Advice Do: • Provide accurate information. • Speak only of your club and the club sports program. Don’t: • Comment on issues not pertaining your club. • Have your coach speak on your club’s behalf. • Answer questions you are not 100% sure are correct.

  9. SOCIAL MEDIA • Facebook & Twitter permitted • Inform Shannon/Mike about creation of pages and make them administers. • Keep appropriate! You are responsible for your site and the content you post. • “These materials are not endorsed, approved, sponsored, or provided by or on behalf of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville” • Administration has the authority to go on pages and edit information if deemed inappropriate.

  10. Facebook • Each club is encouraged to have their own Facebook Page since Reddot websites are now unavailable. • Do not make groups- want to get exposure for your club. • To be affective, clubs should be consistent in posting at least once a day. • Does not have to be about club, anything relevant to keep interest. • Club members can “like” our page for Razorback points. • Send FB message so we can keep track of points

  11. Twitter • You can utilize Twitter for more “real-time” updates and news. • To be affective, tweet at least twice a day. • It is recommended by marketing professionals to post at least 5. • Follow @ARClubsports for Razorback points. • Mention us in a tweet that you are a member to receive points.
