  1. Translation Tessellation Create your tessellation shape by altering 2 sides, Cutting out pieces, and sliding the pieces straight across.

  2. Translation Tessellation Trace design on sketch sheet for tessellating shape. Use shape to create 3 representational designs.

  3. Translation Tessellation Trace design on final copy for tessellating pattern.

  4. Color Scheme – Warm vs Cool Use 3 Warm Colors vs 3 Cool Colors. You may add a neutral color.

  5. November 2nd Drawing 1 – Finish Form and Value Designs. Turn in Sketches and Final copies. Drawing 2 – Rotation Tessellation. • Sketches. Advanced – Contract work.

  6. Rotation Tessellation Repeat Process for Translation Tessellation: Trace 3 times. 3 different designs. 3. Trace pattern on final copy.

  7. Rotation Tessellation Trace design on final copy for tessellating pattern. Color Scheme: Alternate Warm and Cool. All Shaded 1 Colored

  8. Example Color Scheme: Shading with at least 5 Values on all except one. One color with value on One shape.

Procedures • Divide the paper in half vertically and into fourths horizontally. • Make a simple pattern out of 4 to 5 shapes that repeats twice. • Repeat the pattern in each row. • Add design to the pattern in each row as the pattern goes down the page. • Use a color scheme to finish; complimentary colors, analogous colors, or warm/cool colors.
