  2. Carl G. J. Jacobi was born in Potsdam Germany December 10 1804. He was Jewish. He was a math teacher and was considered the most inspiring teacher of his time.

  3. From 1819 to 1821 he went to the Victoria- Gymnasium. After that he studied at Berlin University and got a degree for Doctor of Philosophy in 1825. for his degree he did a study on fractions. In 1827 he became an extraordinary professor. In 1829 he became a professor of mathematics at Konigsberg University until 1842.

  4. His greatest efforts in math was in elliptical functions. An elliptical function is a function that is defined on a complex plain and that is periodic in 2 directions. His 2nd greatest effort towards math was the Hamilton Jacobi theory. This deals with differential equations and rational mechanics.

  5. Carl died February 18 1851. his grave is in Berlin Germany.
