Eastern Europe Research Scientist & Student Exchange & Collaboration Program EERSS - Objectives • Provides opportunities for scientists – exposure to each other’s research and education environment • Promotes cross border scientific exchange/ sharing of ideas, collaborate on projects, teaching and sharing of knowledge in areas of expertise. • Founded on principles of reciprocity

Eastern Europe Research Scientist & Student Exchange & Collaboration Program EERSS - Scientists • 1st visit • 2-3 weeks duration • Develop areas and projects of joint research • Deliver scientific seminars • 2nd visit • 1-2 months duration • Conduct in-depth research collaboration • Teach short courses, where applicable

Eastern Europe Research Scientist & Student Exchange & Collaboration Program EERSS - Scientists • 3rd visit • 2-3 months duration • Very detailed research proposal • Prior research work can be done in home country • Visit will be to compare actual results, prepare publications (key deliverables) and scientific seminars • Projects will be hosted by NUS faculties of Computing, Engineering, Science • Preference to be given to projects resulting in joint publications and further applications prospects.

Eastern Europe Research Scientist & Student Exchange & Collaboration Program EERSS – Scientists Terms of reference • Scientists are paid a honorarium comparable to their experiences and qualification. • Return economy airfare for each visit • Start-up grant to cover project cost for scientists, where applicable • Note: • All scientists will have to bear all personal expenses during their stay in Singapore: housing, insurance, transport, income tax, etc

EERSS – Graduate Students Terms of reference Eastern Europe Research Scientist & Student Exchange & Collaboration Program • Scientists can recommend graduate students to visit NUS under the EERSS Program on exchange • They can visit NUS after the first visit of the Scientist • Duration of the visit is 1-3 months • They are paid a monthly stipend of S$1500 (US$900) • Tuition fee is waived • Return economy airfare for each visit • Note: • All graduate students will have to bear all personal expenses during their stay in Singapore: housing, insurance, transport, income tax, etc
