Complete Streets /Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Guidelines: Transportation Options, Goal #8 • Expected Big Picture Impact: • Create safe, beautiful, sustainable streets & transportation infrastructure • Eliminate ped fatalities in 10 years, • increase non-auto mode share to 50% by 2030 • Address cities mitigation and adaptation goals • Design public right-of-way as public space. • Actions To Come: • Will Release Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Guidelines and Policies by end of June • Just starting Streets for People, placemaking guidelines for Chicago • CDOT implementation of SUIG and Complete Streets starting July 1st. • Partners: • Healthy Places, Public Health, CLOCC, CDC • SUIG task force • MWFP task force • Milestones: • Released Complete Streets Chicago Guidelines in April • Challenges: • Implementation across all players • State jurisdiction roadways • Data and making data easily accessible
