  1. 9/9/14 – Real Number Multiplicaiton & Divison DO NOW 1). -4 -14 = 2). 8 - -13 = 3). -9 - - 15 = 4). 6 – 15 = 5). 21 - - 19 = 6). -37 – - 19 = HERO PROBLEM (impress me): 27 + -15 - - 9 – 4 =

  2. Class Challenge If Mr. Nauen gets HW for the rest of the week from EVERY (and I mean every) member of class this week, he will wear Max’s Ugly red sox hat on Monday in class.

  3. What are we doing Today OBJECTIVE:WE WILL be able to multiply and divide positive and negative real numbers. ESSENTIAL UNDERSTANDING: Multiplying and dividing positive and negative numbers is easy – there is just one rule to remember!! AP

  4. Signs when multiplying and dividing THE BIG RULE (when multiplying and dividing): If the signs are the same, the answer is always positive If the signs are different, the answer is always negative AP

  5. Let’s Apply This Together 1). -6 x 7 = 2). 8 x 8 = 3). -9 x -5 = 4). 3 x -8 = 5). -11 x 3 = 6). -4 x -6 = AP

  6. Let’s Apply This Together 1). 12 ÷ - 4 = 2). -36/6 = 3). 8 ÷ 2 = 4). -15/-3 = 5). -21 ÷ 3 = 6). -40/8 = AP

  7. Time for Positive/Negative Integer Cards 1). We are playing with mixed card decks with only black and red number cards (no aces or face cards). 2). The dealer will give you two cards. The black cards are positive; the red are negative. 3). Multiply Them! When you succeed, keep the cards and ask for two more. 4). He/She with the most cards wins!
