Ask yourself these questions During and after the practice Did my supervision enable me to: • Keep the athletes actively engaged in the activity? • See all the athletes as a group and individually? • Observe key reference points and success criteria from different vantage points? • Be sure everyone is safe? • Evaluate the athlete’s degree of success in the execution of the activity or drill

Excellent Coaching Sessions: • Planned and published in advance • Start and end on time • Keep players/athletes busy the whole time • Promote competition among friends • Include a lot of variety • Include behaviors required in competition • Involve each athlete in goal setting • Generates as much feedback as possible • Encourage others to make a positive contribution
