  1. Priestly Service Why is it so important that we remember and understand our role as priests? 1. It is God’s original intent for believers to be a kingdom of priests. See Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 2:9. 2. Our service for God has its roots in our calling as priests unto God and unto man for God.

  2. The Three Main Duties of Priests • Fellowship with God. (i) Developing intimacy with God. (ii) Need to hear his voice: a) be in a place of obedience, b) take steps to hear God’s voice, c) expect God to speak, d) be prepared to write down what God tells you. • Mediation between man and God. • Serving in the temple.

  3. The High Priest Garment • The stones on the priest’s garment are names of the twelve tribes of Israel. • The priest carried all these names on his shoulders and on his outer garment close to his heart as memorial before the Lord.

  4. Blunders of Nadab and Abihu as Priests • Did what God did not command. • Offered strange and unholy fire. • Offered incense at the wrong place and the wrong time. • Did not consecrate themselves before God and also before the congregation.
