  4. Expository/Research 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th period 1st and 5th period Novel: That Was Then This is Now or The Outsiders By S.E. Hinton -Packets (standards based) -Research Paper -Gang Violence -The Vietnam War -Poetry (Poet of the Month / integrated into packets) Novel: To Kill a Mockingbird By Harper Lee -Packets (standards based) -Research Paper -The Great Depression -Jim Crow Laws -Poetry (Poet of the Month / integrated into packets)

  8. Last Week of School…..(all classes) Novel: The Little Prince By Antoine de Saint-Exupery *We read The Little Prince the last week of school because it’s a wonderful book to send the students off to high school with! 
