  3. Objectives • Test Chapter 5 • Compare desert, tundra and grasslands • List the nine land biomes • Use the land biome to determine the amount of rain (High, Med, Low) and temerature (High, Med, Low) Lesson 16

Class Notes • Savanna is a grassland with large herds of animals and sparely separated trees • Animals of the desert are frequently nocturnal • Deserts form on the dry side of mountain ranges • The tundra has a layer of permanenantly frozen ground • Taiga is dominated by coniferous trees • The main factor that determines type of plants in a biome is (temperature and precipitation) Lesson 16
