Environmental Science Lab “Groundwater Pollution” • Recall from last day: • POROSITY refers to the amount of space between particles of soil • Fluid stored in and around pores of soil is referred to as GROUNDWATER • INFILTRATION is how water moves through pores in the soil, eventually reaching stored groundwater • A large collection of groundwater underneath soil layers where we draw drinking water from is called the AQUIFER SURFACE
