Students who scored a 0 or a 1 tended to be weakest in the following areas: Weak or illogical organization Weak sentence to sentence movement Repetition of ideas and wordiness Weak development of ideas Development was sparse and very vague Little or no control of conventions Sentence boundaries were weak

    14. What Have the Writing Scores Told Us? Variety of new formulas emerged this year Some writers tried to write in an outlandish manner to get voice Readers found many papers to be circular

    16. Work on Vocabulary A stronger vocabulary will allow students to choose more precise and vivid words; thereby, improving the writing.
