  • IRESC is a voluntary organisation
  • IRESC aims to provide international emergency communications in times of need
  • IRESC membership is made up of radio hams and non-radio hams

  • IRESC uses secure “Voice-Over-Internet Protocol” to link distant radio zones together

BUILDING THE IRESC NETWORK
  • When disaster strikes, gathering early ‘on-the-spot’ information is essential
  • If official communications are compromised through damage or power loss, re-establishing them can take time
  • Often, radio hams are the first to ‘get the message out’ from a major disaster

  • Public Relations – improve.
  • Keep volunteers motivated.
