REASPONSE

In 1999, A kayak accident during a South American adventure took Mary Neal to heaven and back. In heaven she learned from God about, true happiness and joy. On board with Mary was a surgeon and his wife. The accident occurred well they were heading down a water fall. In the story Mary talks about her feelings and her communication with everyone and what happened in after life.

REASPONSE

For my responses I drew Mary Neal on the kayak this was a photo right before she went down the waterfall.

Why?

I knew this was a very dramatic part of her life, on the kayak trip so I decided to draw it. And I knew this was a moment of her life she would never forget.

Exploration letter to author

EXPLORATION (LETTER TO AUTHOR)

Hi, Mary

I am Shannon Bauer from the Birmingham school district in MI. I have read your book “to heaven and back”. I wrote this email because I am doing a book report on your book and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.

  • Do you think the kayak accident was meant to be?

  • Is their anything that you will never forget from this experience?

    Thanks for your time,

    Shannon Bauer
