Purpose of the Global Grant Workshop • Change the language within 7610; Incoming (Contributions to TRF) vs. Outgoing Dollars (Life Changing Projects thru Grants) • Logistics for successful GG Writing • Find Available Resources on Rotary.org • Share Information • Get Questions Answered • Empower to Act • Number Crunching Exercise (confidence builder!)

  4. BASIC LOGISTICS TO WRITE A GLOBAL GRANT • Community Needs Assessment (Local or Intl.) • Build A Coalition (Fellow Rotarians and Fellow Rotary Clubs) • Find A Reliable HOST Club (Intl. Partner if Intl. Grant) • Make sure project is sustainable and has measurable goals • www.rotary.org/myrotary/en/take-action/apply-grants/global-grants • Coordinate Project AND Financing with: • Your home Rotary Club • Your District 7610 and Other U.S. Districts • Any Partner Rotary Club(s) here or abroad • Rotary District of Host Club

Global Grants – How the Money Flows Extra Annual Shares from Global Funds Paul Harris Society 7610 Annual Shares to The Rotary Foundation $500,000 2013/14 Rotary Year Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) Sustaining Members 50% Returned to 7610 in 3 Years $250,000 to the District Designated Fund (DDF) 2016/17 Rotary Year District Grants $125,000 Global Grants $125,000 This is today’s discussion.

Global Grants – How the Money Flows • Skin In The Game (must contribute to the GG to include cash on the application) • Call and/or Present your cause at Rotary Clubs • Have a GG Fundraiser for seed money • There Are Four Main Sources of Funding on the GG Application: • Club / Conglomerate of Clubs = 50% Match • 7610 or Any DDF = 100% Match • Intl. Host Club/ Conglomerate of Clubs = 50% Match • Intl. Host District = 100% Match

Two Ways to Fund $30,000 • Using Club Financing Only; $20,000 Club(s) Cash Contribution (must add 5%/ $1,000 admin) $10,000 TRF Match (50% Match) $30,000 Total Budget Positives: Won’t Depend on District for DDF Negatives: 50% TRF Match, Admin Fee, Takes Longer to Process • Using DDF Financing; $15,000 DDF 7610 (Exch. for 50% or 7.5K to Annual Shares TRF) $15,000 TRF Match (100% Match) $30,000 Total Budget Positives: No Admin Fee, Quicker to Process, Funds Annual Shares, which in return comes back in 3 years (more DDF) Negatives: Limited DDF Each Year; coordinate with Club Presidents, still have to raise $
