Preterite of Regular –ar Verbs

When you want to talk about actions COMPLETED in the past use “el pretérito”.

Add the appropriate ending to the verb’s stem.

Preterit of verbs ending in car gar zar

Regular verbs that end in -car, -gar, -zar have a spelling change in the YOform of the preterit to maintain the original sound of the verb stem
