Open Call for SubmissionsForum on Innovative and Creative Training Strategies • A regular forum for brief articles on training activitiesreporting on innovative and creative strategies and implementation for education and training including reports from doctoral, internship and postdoctoral programs. •  Focus on benefit to the education community and profession and enhance the ability of the psychologist graduates to provide quality services to the public.

Forum on Innovative and Creative Training Strategies • no longer than 15 manuscript pages in total   • Rationale and justification; • Indicated competencies;  • Succinct review of the literature; • Description of training activities • Measurement and outcomes or plan for evaluation (with data to come at time certain in the future); • Implications and generalizability of the activity for other programs.

APPA CAS • Online uniform application, the APPACAS (APPIC Psychology Postdoctoral Application Centralized Application System). • Contain data fields for basic demographic, contact and educational information and several fields to upload cover letters, essays, vita, unofficial transcripts and work samples. Programs would be free to determine what materials they require. • Letter of recommendation portal for letter writers with automated reminders and notification • Completed applications would be sent to a Training Director Portal where applications could be viewed and downloaded • Program/Training Director portal customizable variables and documents • Program/Training Director portal - application and interview ratings system that can be customized to each program's specification • User Friendly sophisticated data sorting and manipulation within the Program/Training Director Portal • An Excel file download of applicant demographic data

APPA CAS • An electronic interview scheduling function • Free for APPIC member programs • Non-APPIC members - free for 2 years. • Fall 2016 application cycle, non-APPIC member programs will be required to pay a $50 fee • Fall 2017 selection cycle forwards, programs will need to become APPIC members to use the APPA • Applicants - $25 for their first application (designation) and $15 for additional applications. • Only need to submit one copy of their transcripts and no shipping expenses for applications

Feedback AAPI Tech Support Team: • Not many technical concerns this year • Usually a rush of general questions around deadline dates • Things ran smoothly this year Applicant survey responses (1006) • Some compliments about the AAPI, Tech Support Team, Greg • Most criticisms related to formatting concerns, followed by the costs of internship selection • Some comments related to other issues (e.g., sites closing, the match) AAPI Coordinator • Most concerns related to formatting • Also concerns related to the change in the Selection Portal • Many questions regarding categorizing hours • Late transcripts, errors and wanting to recall info

Enhancements for 2014-2015 APPLICANT PORTAL • Changed cover letters, essays, and letters of recommendation to uploadable (PDF) documents to address formatting issues • Hid the applicant code number until Phase II • Clarified the designation status for applicants • Added HIPAA guidelines help text • Made the language on Applicant and DCT portals consistent (whether something required to apply/accept internship) SELECTION PORTAL • Added instructions for using search functions in selection portal (had replaced tags and nobody understood) • Stopped the background window from scrolling on the search function • Enabled easier open/closing of portal for Phase II REFERENCE PORTAL • After discussion with CCTC, adopted a revised version of the Canadian reference letter
