  2. What do members learn? • Design a garment or accessory. • Learn embellishing techniques. • Practice techniques. • Complete a project. • Evaluate finished project.

What Leader’s will learn: • About basic principles in design, color, balance and harmony. • Practice designing and embellish a project. • About CT project goals and completion requirements. • Practice methods for teaching the project. • Brainstorm community service project ideas. • Become aware of related contests.

  5. Elements of Design The goal is to design and create an item that will be attractive using: • Color • Balance • Harmony

  6. Choosing Fabric & Materials • Choose a fabric you like, and/or suggests a theme. • Coordinate other fabrics with 1st choice. • Categorize fabrics into groups (cute, fancy). • Choose fabrics that contrast each other. • Choose designs of different sizes, scale, types of patterns, etc.

  7. Choosing a Garment/Accessory • Examine the fabric. • Test for wearability. • Check the grain and construction. • Is it suitable for they way you plan to wear it? • Consider garment care.
