ADL Networking Cooperation Between NATO School, ISN and USJFCOM: • To guarantee the development of ADL modules and courses NATO School works closely with ISN and USJFCOM. • NATO School and ISN/GCSP are cooperating in developing the ADL course, “Trafficking in Human Beings“, to support NATO Schools’ ambitions in expanding course offerings on this topic. • USJFCOM supports NATO School in the development of new courses. Additionally, the NATO School CDT is supported by the USJFCOM CDTs by producing new courses and updating current courses.

Networking on current political issuesTrafficking in Human Beings Curriculum Development • First meeting concerning Curriculum Development on combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Geneva at the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP) 30 Sep. – 01 Oct. 2004: Nominating a core working group for further discussions. • First meeting of the core working group hosted by NATO School, Oberammergau 08 – 10 Nov. 2004: Agreement on the development of three modules to match the different needs for training in various courses. • Second meeting of the core working group hosted by NATO School, 21-23 Feb. 2005: Presentation of the prototypes of the three different modules. • Furthermore an ADL module was developed and is now online.

Development of the ADL ModuleCombating Trafficking in Human Beings Based on the General module GCSP, ISN and NATO School developed an ADL Module with five learning objects on ‘Combating Trafficking in Human Beings’: • NATO Policy on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings • What is Trafficking of Human Beings • Trafficking in Human Beings: Victims and Perpetrators • Impact of Trafficking in Human Beings on NATO-led operations • Duties of NATO-led Forces in Preventing Trafficking in Human Beings

  14. Networking – WHY? The several needs of the user can only be served by cooperation: • Lack of Experts on special issues can be solved by international cooperation. • In ADL networking allows a quick development of new courses. But keeps although a high quality standard.

The Road Ahead ADL Future at NATO School: • NATO School will provide additional pre-learning packages => the aim is to create one pre-learning package for every single course at NATO School. • Post-Course-Studies: Knowledge portal accessible from website. • Course Certification • ADL will eventually be included in all NATO School courses and will be expanded within the next years. • Future growth in Modeling and Simulation exercises - planning for additional ADL facilities at NS.
