  6. For all thematic areas, we find a significant degree of funding concentration and network centralization, ie a few institutions dominate What % do the top 10% participants account for? IST and LSH have the highest degree of funding concentration and network centralization.

  7. We also find that IST and LSH exhibit clustering, ie a relatively small number of participants collaborate in two or more projects dominate the networks. OBJECTIVES OF POLISH TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS • Integration of key industrial and research partners of a specific economy sector for joint research, technology development and technology initiatives • Formal coordination structure, cooperation agreement • Cooperation network, supply chain • Research network, cooperation with selected research centers • Close contacts with the Ministry of Research, the Ministry of Economy and other related Ministries • Technology regulatory framework, legal problems • Promotion, lobbing

OBJECTIVES OF POLISH TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS • Active participation in European Technology Platforms • Active role in development of Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) • Participation in working groups, steering committees… • Transfer of Polish initiatives to ETP • Preparation of joint proposals, initiatives • Participation in FP7 collaborative projects • Participation in Joint Technology Initiatives, ERA-Nets and other European initiatives

OBJECTIVES OF POLISH TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS • Active participation in preparation of National Strategic Research Agenda • Active role in development of Sectorial National Strategic Research Agenda • Cooperation with Ministry of Research and National Research and Development Center (NCBR) • Participation in national strategic research projects, Polish Framework Programme • Participation in foresight activities • Optimal use of structural funds (67 billion euro), in particular from „Innovative Economy Operational Programme”
