  1. ScECAL Fermilab Beam Test analysisScECAL Group MeetingKyungpook National University, Daegu, Republic of Korea,March 29th, 2012Adil Khan, Satoru Uozumi, DongHee Kim

  2. Sources and evaluation method of systematics based on data • Sources of systematic study • Response calibration by MIP (uncertainty of calib. const) • Correction for temperature dependence • MPPC gain measurement by LED system • Electronics inter-calibration of low/high gain modes (uncertainty of inter-calibfactor) • MPPC saturation correction (effective num. of pixels) • Perform pseudo-experiments and see variation • randomly change parameter channel-by-channel, and • perform pseudo-experiments. • Observe the variation (RMS) in terms of resolution and linearity. • Total 20 trials

  3. 1. Systematics from MIP calibration • Distribution of calib. constant and its statistical uncertainty for all the channels From stochastic term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.08% . From constant term the Effect of systematics error is order of ~0.07%.

  4. Deviation from linearity (%) Deviation from linearity for all 20 trials and for all energy points stays within ±1.5%. Effect slightly larger than stat. uncertainties.

  5. 2. Systematic on Temperatur Correction • Distribution of temp. correction factor and its statistical uncertainty for all the channels From stochastic and constant term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.01% ….small.

  6. Deviation from linearity (%) Deviation from linearity for all 20 trials and for all energy points stays within ±1.5%. 12GeV • Effect is comparable or slightly larger than stat. uncertainties. 32GeV 15GeV 30GeV 20GeV

  7. 3. Systematic on Gain Calibration Distribution of gain calib. Constant and its statistical uncertainty for all the channels From stochastic term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.007% . From constant term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.005% .

  8. Deviation from Linearity (%) Deviation from linearity for all 20 trials and for all energy points stays within ±1.5%. Effect is almost comparable or slightly lager then the stat. uncertainties.

  9. 4. Systematic on Inter-calibration factor Distribution of int.calib. Constant and its statistical uncertainty for all the channels From stochastic term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.009% . From constant term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.009% .

  10. Deviation from Linearity (%) Deviation from linearity for all 20 trials and for all energy points stays within ±1.5%. Effect is comparable to the stat. uncertainties.

  11. 5. Systematic on Saturation correction (effective num. of pixels (Npix)) Distribution of Npix. For 72 strip From stochastic term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.07% . From constant term the Effect of systematic error is order of ~0.06% .

  12. Deviation from linearity (%) Deviation from linearity for all 20 trials and for all energy points stays within ±1.5%. • Effect is larger comparable to the stat. uncertainties.

  13. Systematics study summary in terms of Energy Resolution and Linearity

  14. Summary & Plan Systematics (based on data) are evaluated - For MIP calibration - For Temperature correction - For gain calibration - Inter-Calibration correction - For saturation correction * Dominant uncertainty on deviation and resolution comes from uncertainty of effective num. of MPPC pixels and Mip Calibration, but still deviation stays within ±1.5%. * Try to use gain runs for systematics on gain constant * ScECALDigitizer to analyze MC events * CALICE note for systematics. Will present in the upcoming conference ACFA KILC and KPS 23~27 april
