  1. The last straw.

  2. This is a single spaced heading

  3. 1st and 2nd person. • I am now writing in first person. We will not do this again. It will not be good for us. Our grades depend on it. • You should not write in second person either. Your grade depends on it.

  4. Notice the space between paragraphs

  5. Citing is necessary here • There have been four different situations in United States history where the president who won the election did not win the popular vote. This occurred in 1824, 1876, 1888 and most recently in the 2000 when Al Gore won the popular vote, yet Bush won the election (“Does My Vote Count” 4).

  6. This is an integrated quote. In addition, the Electoral College creates a system where third parties will never be able to rise and make it into the U.S. government because it “prevents third parties from splintering our two-party system” (“The Debate About” 1).

  7. This is not. • Reforming the electoral college to allow a third party is not a good idea. Jim halbrook of the new York times said “Any efforts to form a third party would likely result in splintering into multiple, smaller parties, each with its own agenda. (the New York Times page 3).

  8. Still not. • Reforming the electoral college to allow a third party is not a good idea. Jim Halbrook of the New York Times said, “Any efforts to form a third party would likely result in splintering into multiple, smaller parties, each with its own agenda” (Halbrook 3).

  9. This is • Reforming the electoral college to reduce the power of the two major parties is not a good idea because it would “result in splintering into multiple, smaller parties, each with its own agenda” (Halbrook 3). If this were to happen no party could get anything done in Congress because…. (at least four more sentences will follow)

  10. People may state that the Electoral College is unfair, although it does keep the candidates from going to all the big cities and give the small states more attention. The Electoral College keeps the candidate from only going to big cities to win the election which “means that candidates must make a much wider appeal than they would if they simply had to win the national popular vote” (Favor of Electoral College 1).  The Electoral College was made so that the candidates can not win by only going to the cities with more voters. It makes smaller states have an equality of power to the other states around them. With the Electoral College everyone's vote counts. This allows small states to have a bigger affect on the election than they should. If it were not for the Electoral College then small states would not even matter to the election because their votes will not count as much. This proves how the Electoral College allows all votes to count.

  11. Capitalization. • Really? In 10th grade? • Article titles are capitalized. My name is capitalized. Your name is too. Proper nouns are capitalized. • “The different states are depending on being in favor of Democrats, Republicans or being a swing state. For the most part republicans will get Texas no problem…”

  12. Only one of these is right • Doaker is clearly tired of Boy Willie. Rather than offer him breakfast, Doaker tells Boy Willie to go to “Eddies Restaurant. Coffee cost a nickel and you get two eggs.”(19) • Doaker is clearly tired of Boy Willie. Rather than offer him breakfast, Doaker tells Boy Willie to go to “Eddies Restaurant. Coffee cost a nickel and you get two eggs.(19)” • Doaker is clearly tired of Boy Willie. Rather than offer him breakfast, Doaker tells Boy Willie to go to “Eddies Restaurant. Coffee cost a nickel and you get two eggs”(19).

  13. If you do not double space, I will not read it. • If you do not integrate your quotes you will receive an F. • Every time you do not capitalize a person’s name, or the title of a book or a play, it will be full letter grade off. • If you use 1st and second person you will receive an F. • If you do not cite at all, you will receive an F. • If you use the wrong font I will reduce your grade by one full letter • If you add extra lines between paragraphs, I will reduce your grade by one full letter grade. • If you use things, or contractions it will be a full letter grade reduction • If the instructions specifically call for “five sentences of analysis after the quote, and you do not have at least 5 sentences after the evidence, you have not completed the assignment and it will be an F. • I/C means incomplete sentence: Because the dog was sick. Even though she thought if she got rid of Arnold’s trailer. • Run on: I went to the store I wanted some ice cream. • C/S: I went to the store, I wanted some ice cream.
