  3. Pollen • The male reproductive material of plants; pollen is used by bees and many other insects as a source of proteins and food.

  4. Robbing • The removal of honey from a weak or abandoned beehive, most often by other bees or insects. http://www.morguefile.com/

  5. Apiary • An area in which managed honey bee colonies are kept; also called a bee yard. http://www.morguefile.com/

  6. Brood • Developing bees, including eggs, larvae, and pupae. http://www.morguefile.com/

  7. Catastrophe • A large-scale disaster, misfortune, or failure.

  8. Colony • Family of honey bees living together in a hive, including workers, drones, and a single queen.

  9. Drone • Male honey bee.

  10. Forage • To search for food; the location where such food is found can be called a foraging site.
