COMMS/NET C4ISR OTHER BUSI IT ISR/IO C2 ‘FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY’ J55580 - INMARSAT-B High Speed Data (INMARSAT-B HSD) SSC Contact Info: (Charlie Simms/55580/757.558.5184/charles.simms@navy.mil) Sponsor: PEO C4I and Space Description: INMARSAT B HSD provides wideband capability to fleet units not equipped with either Super High Frequency (SHF) or C-Band satellite communications (SATCOM) systems; or as a backup system in the event these installed systems are inoperative. INMARSAT B HSD provides 128 kilobits per second (kbps) per installed terminal of continuous full period leased channel service for simultaneous processing of Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and multiple official telephones lines, including Secure Telephone Unit III (STU-III) and official crew phone calls using Afloat Personal Telecommunications Services (APTS). Some platforms require two INMARSAT B systems to support additional bandwidth requirements.
