  3. What is LiveText? • LiveText is an online assessment system. • LiveText is free for faculty/supervisors. • Student cost to use LiveText is $98 per student. Access is good for five years. • The LiveText website is located at: • http://www.livetext.com

Register for LiveText • In order to register for a LiveText faculty account you should have: • A Lotus Notes email address (@unlv.edu) • The LiveText faculty keycode (downloadable at: http://education.unlv.edu/livetext/documents/training/faculty_registration.pdf) • To begin the registration process go to: https://c1.livetext.com/misk5/c1/activate?site=college

  6. What Do Students Have To Do? • Register for Field Experiences • Purchase LiveText (Available in the bookstore or online) • Register for LiveText using their Rebelmail email address (@unlv.nevada.edu address)

  7. What Do Students Have To Do? Cont. • Once in LiveText, students will need to: • Verify that they are enrolled in the correct course and correction section. • Navigate to that course. • Navigate to the correct Observation or Evaluation (Example: Observation #1) • Use the provided “Field Experiences Information” template under “Assignment Templates”. • Click on the “Edit” icon. • Fill out the correct information in the fields. • Click on “Save & Finish” when done filling out information. • Click on “Submit Assignment” when ready to submit the information.

How Do Supervisors Submit Observations/Evaluations • Login to LiveText • Navigate to your course (Example: EDEL 311-1) • Click on the “Assignments” tab. • Click on the bar that is shown adjacent to what you want to submit (Example: Observation #1). • Make sure that the student submitted the “Field Experiences Information” (discussed on the previous slide).

  9. How Do Supervisors Submit Observations/Evaluations • Click on the “Assessment Rubrics” tab to fill out the rubric (Field Experience Evaluation Form). • Click on the “Grades/Comments” tab to type in a grade and/or comments. • Click “Submit Assignment” when finished.

How About Cooperating Teachers? • Cooperating Teachers do not need to register for a LiveText account. • Collect the Cooperating Teachers’ email addresses and email to Vicky Hoffman (vicky.hoffman@unlv.edu). • Cooperating Teachers will be sent an email that will contain a link to the online Field Experiences Observation Form. • All they need to do is click on the link in the email and fill out the online form every time they conduct an observation/evaluation. • Example: https://college.livetext.com/misk5/formz/public/31687/ohR7AWEGb7
