  2. Basic Qualification

  3. Objectives during Ph.D. • To analyses the formation of 16 PAHs from incineration of waste from Acrylic industry/ local hospital. • To analyses waste management practices followed by Acrylic industry/local Hospitals and the problems faced by them in complying with the environmental regulations.

  4. 16 PAHs as Priority Pollutants (EPA, 1997) • Naphthalene(Nap) • Acenaphthylene(AcPy) • Acenaphthene(Acp) • Fluorene(Flu) • Phenanthrene(PA) • Anthracene(Ant) • Fluoranthene(FL) • Pyrene(Pyr) 9. Chrysene(CHR) 10. Benzo[a]anthracene(BaA) 11. Benzo[b]fluoranthene(BbF) 12 Benzo[k]fluoranthene(BkF) 13. Benzo[a]pyrene(BaP) 14. Indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene(IND) 15 Benzo(g,h,i)perylene(BghiP) 16. Dibenzo(a,h)anthracene(DBA) 2B Carcinogenic 2A Carcinogenic It is expected that air quality would be improved if the emission of these PAHs is controlled
