  1. Be Sure…You Can’t AffordTo Be Wrong

  2. Right or Wrong? • We live in a society where being right (correct, accurate) is not emphasized like it once was • We all make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes are of little consequence • However, we cannot afford to be wrong about spiritual matters (Mt. 19:9; 22:11-14; 25:24-30) • We need to be sure that we are right with God (Lk. 1:1-4; Jn. 19:35; 2 Pet. 1:16-21; 1 Jn. 4:1-6)

  3. Three Reasons For Being Sure • Because the stakes are high, the consequences eternal (Mt. 7:13-14; 25:46) • Therefore, make whatever sacrifice necessary in order to be right (Mk. 9:43-48)

  4. Three Reasons For Being Sure • Because you only get one chance to get it right; you cannot change your condition after you die (Lk. 16:19-31; Heb. 9:27) • Therefore, take the one life that you are given and make it right

  5. Three Reasons For Being Sure • Because you may be taking others with you where you are going (2 Chron. 22:3; Mt. 18:5-6) • Therefore, do all to set the right example of being right (2 Tim. 1:5; 1 Pet. 3:1-2)

  6. Can You Be Sure You Are Right? • Yes, if you desire and care to be right (Prov. 23:23; Mt. 5:6; 7:7-8; Lk. 13:24; Jn. 7:17; Acts 17:11) • Yes, if you examine the right evidence and accept what you are told (Mt. 19:22; 22:29) • Yes, if you begin at the right starting point (Acts 3:27-28; Rom. 8:16) • Yes, if continue in what is right (1 Jn. 1:6-7; 2:3-6, 17, 29; 3:4-10, 21-24; 4:21; 5:2-3)
