    1. CMS Band 2009-2010 Booster Meeting August 18th, 2009

    2. Calendar of Events September 16th and 23rd- Football Pep band games. October 2nd-CHS 8th Grade Band Night October 8th and 9th-Rock-a-thon October 20th-Fall Concert (symphonic only) Dec. 5th-District Honor Band and All-State Auditions (morning)

    3. Dec. 5th Douglas Christmas Parade-report time is 5:15 pm to holt’s bakery Dec. 8th-County Wide Band Winter Concert Feb. 26th and 27th-District Honor Band April 2nd and 3rd-8th Grade Spring Trip April 15th thru 17th-All Region Band May 4th-Spring Concert (Will be Moved Due to CRCT) May 7th-District 8 6th Grade Clinic

    4. Concerts All Concerts will be held at the CMS Auditorium. All Concerts begin at 7 pm, be here at 6:30 pm Band Uniform is the dress Fall Concert Oct. 20th (symphonic only) Winter Concert Dec. 8th-County Wide Spring Concert May 4th

    5. Auditions Dec. 5th— District Honor Band/All-State Auditions in Waycross. We will leave that morning from CMS and return between 12 and 1pm. District Honor Band Audition Fee = $5 All-State Audition Fee = $15 (must be paid in advance)

    6. District Honor Band February 26th and 27th, 2010 Location: Valdosta High School Fees have not been determined at this time. This is an overnight trip. Chaperones are more than welcome, they are needed.

    7. All-Region Band April 15th thru 17th Location: Valdosta State University Participants are selected from those students who advance to the 2nd round of All-State Auditions but are not selected for the All-State Band. Fees have not been determined at this time.

    8. All-State Band First Round Auditions are Dec. 5th Same audition requirements as district honor band plus the prepared etude. Second Round Auditions: TBA Held in Perry, GA in January at Perry Middle School. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the 2nd round audition. No scales, just etude and sight-reading

    9. Football Pep-Band Practices begin at 3:30 and end at 5pm. Practice Dates: Aug. 19th, 24th, 31st September 7th, 14th Games: September 23rd--7th grade game begins at 5pm September 16th—8th grade game begins at 5pm All Games will be over by 6:30 pm

    10. Fundraisers Rock-A-Thon: October 8th and 9th in the CMS Lunchroom. Begins at 7 pm on Thursday night and ends at 7 am on Friday morning. Please pick up your child at 7 am, ….PLEASE!!! $30 is the minimum you must raise to attend.

    11. Spring Fundraiser will be our Vidalia Onion Sale. Information will be coming soon. Where does the money go? 8th graders keep 100% of their fundraiser profit to help pay for their Spring Trip. 6th and 7th graders: The Rock-a-thon money goes to the band and the onion sale money is split 75/25. This money is spent on the kids. The more we raise, the less parents will have to pay.

    12. Student Accounts Your child’s band account may be used for band related purchases. If your child stays in band into the high school, their money that is left will follow them to be used on band expenses. No, we may not give you cash.

    13. Uniforms Band Polo $25 (order from us) Band Shoes $25 (order from us) Black dress pants (Wal-Mart, Kmart, etc.) First Order will be made September 4th, 2009. You may use your account to pay for this.

    14. 8th Grade Spring Trip April 2nd and 3rd. Orlando, Fl 2 days/1 night Performance at music festival, time at Downtown Disney, I day park pass to Universal or Island of Adventure, 1 night hotel, Awards ceremony.

    15. Cost: Waiting for the theme parks to release their ticket prices. We are working to keep it at or under $200. Payment schedule: Sept, Oct, Nov., Jan.-50$ a month. Trip must be paid for before February! Chaperones: We love chaperones!!! The more the merrier. Chaperone’s cost will the same as students. If we are able to offer a discount we will but do not know at this point if we will get one.
