possible syntax examples
Possible Syntax Examples
  • Target Name, IP:Port[, PGN[,Type[,Speed[, Preference]]]]
    • PGN- Portal Group Number (in RFC3720)
    • Type – 0- nn {IANA registered values}
      • 0 = iSCSI
      • 1 = iWARP
      • 2 = IB
      • 3 = …
    • Speed – 1x, 2x, 4x, etc
    • Preference – 0 – n {Higher value is higher preference}
compatibility
Compatibility
  • Need to come up with a method for being compatible with previous implementations
    • Perhaps a new field in the Request
      • SendTargets command with new filed
      • Example: SendTargets <iSCSI-target-name>[,TSP]
        • Where TSP stands for Type, Speed, Preference
