  1. For Freshmen & Potential Members: What is the Red Kettle Club? • A “Salvation Army” Club • Purpose: To engage students in active volunteerism through collaboration between The Salvation Army & their school. • The mission of the RKC is to educate and engage the younger generation in the field of community service. • An opportunity for students to serve the less fortunate of their communities and participating in events throughout the year to help others.

  2. Requirements: • Members must participate in 2 service projects during the year. • Have a minimum of 10 community service hours. • DUES: $15 for new members. $10 for returning members. • Please give your dues to Mrs. Blaze or any Red Kettle Club officer.

  3. Deadlines: • Dues and t-shirt orders have to be turned in by September 18th! Turn them in to either Mrs. Blaze or any Red Kettle Club Officer. • This is so that we can order the shirts in time for some of our big projects! • The Give Kids the World Parental Agreement form will be due at the next meeting.

  5. Examples of Projects • Bell Ringing • “I’ll Fight” Day • Give Kids the World • Food/Clothing Drives • Annual Fashion Show • Christmas Toy Drive • Thanksgiving Baskets for the Needy • Volunteering at the Salvation Army store & church.

Projects Planned so Far: • Servapalooza in Lakeland – Meet at 9 • Volunteering at the Salvation Army store in Winter Haven in September (hopefully!) • Give Kids the World Village in October. • Please wear your RKC shirt if you have one, or if you do not have one yet, please wear a red, white, or black shirt / polo.

If you don’t have one, please wear either a plain white, red, or black shirt / polo. • Get community service hours! • We will volunteer at on-site service projects and will learn about volunteering. Please come out to this event! • We will post a Facebook event in our group page, “HCHS Red Kettle Club” for you to RSVP if you’re coming. • Wear Red Kettle Club shirt, or if you do not have one, please wear a red, white, or black shirt or polo.

About Give Kids the World: • Non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of terminally ill children. • Located in Kissimmee, Florida. • Gives the kids an enjoyable, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions.   9. If you would like to volunteer with us at Give Kids the World village, please sign up on the forms or RSVP to our event on Facebook. The event will be posted in our Facebook group page: “Haines City High Red Kettle Club”. We will volunteer here in October. The Give Kids the World Parental Agreement form will be due at the next meeting.
