  2. CHAPTER 1 I WISH MY MUM WAS STILL ALIVE. By now she would be dead anyway. I’m telling this from my point of view and no-one else’s. I can remember, it well, my Mum’s death. Everyone rushing and suddenly, we feed her a bit of tablet and her spirit went out the window into the busy city of Chicago.

  3. She was 36 at the time and we still don’t know what caused her death. Me, Scott, was 15 at the time and I had just been out on my bike with Suzie who was 18 and when we got home we were greeted by dad saying “ Mum isn't doing to well”. “Stay away from her room”

  4. CHAPTER 2 So one day, I was walking in the park looking for someone to play with when I saw something scatter in to the bushes. I decided to go investigate, you know, the big hairy thing, but I now wish I hadn’t. It pounced on me and in, less than 5 seconds, I realised what it was. It was a baby gorilla with more hair than a jungle has tree’s.

  5. We tussled for a while and eventually I won. “So what am I going with you big bundle of fluff?”, I asked and I don’t know if it was just me but did he shrug his shoulders ? After a while I decided to sneak him home under my jumper. Luckily I had a T-Shirt on underneath so it didn’t hurt that much. When I got home my dad and sister were busy hunting so I hid him in the shed in the corner with enough food to last him a year. It was then I noticed the tag around his neck he was from the ZOO! His name was Jumbo . The phone number of the ZOO was 07756270.

  6. Now my dad found out that Jumbo is here. He heard me talking to him about my Mum ( who is now dead if you didn’t read the first page ) yesterday AND Jumbo is stealing fruit. My dad is mad. He will not kill Jumbo. Jumbo is so precious to me and since I have no company. He is a gift from god. More than that, he is my friend.

  7. CHAPTER 3 Well, now I am definitely keeping Jumbo away from dad. We were walking in town last Sunday and all of a sudden Suzie walked into a lamppost “aw…my head” Suzie moaned weakly. “Are you ok”, Dad asked rushing over. When he was about 4 or 5 yards away he came to a sudden stop. “ What the ? ” , He said. “ What’s wrong dad I asked ?” “ this look’s like a lot like your monkey friend back home”

  8. “ You mean Jumbo?” “ Yes Jumbo !”, my dad replied angrily “ how many other gorrilas do we keep” “ Sorry dad” ,I said as he took a hit at me. Luckily I ducked. Dads wack’s are hard. Dad took another look at the poster. “ REWARD $2000!, dad shouted. “ That looks enough to buy that ring for Sonya”.

  9. “ Who’s Sonya” Suzie said puzzled. For the last couple of weeks dad has been more active than I have ever seen him. He keeps scanning the shed for Jumbo. Then one day he found him. He locked him in the shed and disappeared of to the bar with Suzie.

  10. CHAPTER 4 Last night Suzie and dad came back walking like zombie’s. They were so mental. I decided to go to the park to think about what was going on. Suddenly I heard a gun fire. So I rushed home and saw Jumbo lying on the floor in a pile of blood. “ Jumbo speak to me please”. In no other than a minute. He was dead.
