  7. CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session One: 60 min Playing a Role Students learn about the game, and obtain and personalize their roles

  8. CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session One: (Playing a Role) 60 min Session Two: 60 min Playing Real Students find their homes, form neighbourhoods, and make lifestyle choices

  9. CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session One: (Playing a Role) 60 min Session Two: (Playing Real) 60 min Session Three: 60 min Real Skills Students locate skills in their personal roles, and among others in their neighbourhoods

CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session One: (Playing a Role) 60 min Session Two: (Playing Real) 60 min Session Three: (Real Skills) 60 min Session Four: (Real Businesses) 60 min Session Five: (Real Hiring) 60 min Session Six: (Putting Town Together) 60 min Session Seven: 60 min The Working World Students explore work search methods, find role profiles for workers needed in their neighbourhoods and learn that workers move

  14. CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session Eight: 60 min Real Needs, Real Solution Students identify key attributes of their town businesses and services in response to a relocation proposal from a company called Kids’ World Inc.

  15. CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session Eight:(Real Needs/Solution) 60 min Session Nine: 60 min Real Rehearsal Students prepare and rehearse responses to questions about businesses and services in their town and about the people who work in them

CONTENT The Play Real Game (3/4) Session Eight:(Real Needs/Solution) 60 min Session Nine: (Real Rehearsal) 60 min Session Ten: 60 min Real Play Parents, teachers and invited guests assume roles as executives of Kids’ World Inc. and question the town’s citizens (students) about the services, businesses and skills they could offer if the company were to establish a new facility there

  17. Five neighbourhoods Four businesses, each of which employs one role character One town service which employs four role characters Workers may or may not live and work in the same community; a commute may be required One downtown core REAL GAME COMMUNITY

  18. Each kit contains a role profile Open to discover “who you are today” Complete name, age, hobby Find your home Refer to the map coordinates Select a house Meet your neighbours Decide on a name for your neighbourhood ROLE PROFILES

  19. What skills do you have? Reading and Writing Math Decision Making Learning Responsibility Self Management Teamwork Technology Communication Time and Money Management Which of these skills are needed in the other neighbourhoods? SKILLS

  20. Discover your neighbourhood’s service by solving the jumbles Identify the four businesses Name each business Discuss how each business contributes to the neighbourhood TOWN SERVICES

  21. Build the town by attaching the maps at the appropriate positions around the downtown core Select a name for this town BUILD THE TOWN

  22. Congratulations! Your town has been chosen as one of 10 possible sites for our new hi-tech facility. This environmentally friendly, hi-tech facility will offer state of the art training for local people and approximately 400 jobs will be created in your town, if we choose to locate there. Please send us responses from the various neighbourhoods letting us know what you have to offer our company in the way of town services, businesses, recreation, etc. All neighbourhoods should work together in presenting what your town has to offer our company. Why should we choose your town? BUILDING CAPACITYKIDS’ WORLD INC.
