  2. WHAT WILL I LEARN THIS YEAR? The focus of this class will be communication in Spanish. You will be… • Speaking • Reading • Writing • Listening and • Comparing cultures.

  3. What do I bring to class? 4 EVERYDAY you need to bring items: • Spanish binder = CARPETA • Spanish vocabulary/grammar notebook = CUADERNO DE VOCABULARIO Y GRAMÁTICA • pencil = LÁPIZ orpen= BOLÍGRAFO • highlighters = RESALTADOR

  4. HOW WILL I BE GRADED? Assignments are divided into categories and each category is weighted differently.

  5. PROFICIENCY LEVELS & SKILLS beginner emerging developing proficient advanced Learning Spanish is an acquired skill that must be practiced. Grades will reflect your progress from novice low (beginner) through intermediate mid (advanced).

  6. WHAT IF I AM ABSENT? • Check the “TE EXTRAÑAMOS” bin. Look in your class period folder and find the “Durante tu Ausencia” form with your name on itand attached handouts if applicable. You are responsible for completing all assignments listed on the form. • Missed quizzes, testsor oral assignments will be made-up AFTER SCHOOL ONLY.

  7. MAY I TURN IN LATE WORK? • LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. • If you are absent on the day an assignment is due, it must be submitted on the day you return to class.

  8. WILL I HAVE HOMEWORK? • Generally though, you will not have homework over the weekend. • All homework must be completed in full. Partial credit will notbe given for incomplete work.

  9. WILL I USE TECHNOLOGY? • You will use Edmodo and/or Google Voice every week. • If you have never used Edmodo you will need to create an account. Edmodo will be used for homework assignments, review class notes, submit projectsand to find links to other sites. You will use Google Voice to record messages. • Use Remind 101 to receive reminder alerts.

  10. ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW? • FOOD and DRINKS are NOT allowed in class. • Exception: OK only when part of the lesson
