Federated WirelessNetwork Authentication • I2 SALSA-NetAuth Group • Working to enable institutional members to authenticate to networks (wireless/wired) at other institutions using their home credentials. • Leverage federations at many levels (local, state, country, international) • Enable roaming between HiEd, K-12, government, industry

  3. Key Technology • 802.1x – With WPA/WPA2/middlebox • EAP authentication • Allows home institution to select particular authentication type • Phase 1: “Simple” RADIUS peering • Toplevel RADIUS router • Phase 2: Federation Integration • Shibboleth; single hop RADIUS peering
