  3. Historical Registration • According to Bruce W. Cunningham, Ph.D., the history of registration techniques has followed the history of computing very closely. • Possibly the most critical business process of the registrar’s office • Organizes, manages and implements the most basic function of higher education

Registration’s Primary Purpose • “The ultimate goal of registration then, is the achievement of the best possible fit between the desires and needs of the students and the resources and capabilities of the institution.” • Cunningham, B.
