Stock Activity • We will all invest a fictional $10,000 for the rest of the semester • Today - “BYOT” Research stocks • What phase of development is the company? • Is it global or domestic? • Demographics? Who wants this product? • What is the economic cycle ? Good, bad? Cyclical? • Today - Pick 5 stocks/bonds/mutual funds to invest in – • (use “Stock Trainer” app in android) (“Stock Tracker” for i-phones) • Diversify • Avoid obvious risks • Short term or long term?

Today – • Write down the stocks you chose, the price TODAY, and why you selected those stocks &/or mutual funds. • This Quarter – • Check your stocks at least once a week and write down the progress of the stocks (↑ or ↓) • The last week of the quarter we will have a brief presentation on your investment portfolio and how it responded over the quarter. • I will give a prize for most money won & lost It does not matter if you made money or lost it. What matters is that you learn something about selecting stocks/bond/securities and how to track it.

  7. Exit Ticket • On a piece of paper – • write down the 5 stocks/bonds/mutual funds you selected and their codes
