  1. Is Baptism Essential To The Salvation Of The Soul?

  2. Many people say NO – but God says YES It is not “water salvation” Jesus is the Savior – not the water

  3. Every man who is saved will be saved by the grace of God Naaman – 2 Kings 5 Naaman was cleansed by the grace of God when he met the conditions given

  4. When we meet the conditions God has set forth in order for us to be saved – we are still saved by the His grace “One’s reaction to the commands of Christ reflects the condition of his heart”

  5. Baptism stands between:

  6. 1. B A P T I S M • THE SINNER • AND SALVATION

  7. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mk. 16:16

  8. He that eateth and digesteth shall live: but he that eateth not shall die. 2 conditions necessary to life (like Mk. 16:16) and one necessary to death

  9. 2. B A P T I S M • THE SINNER • AND REMISSION OF SINS

  10. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 – Peter told a group of believers what to do

  11. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Jn. 1:12

  12. 3. B A P T I S M • THE SINNER • AND GETTING INTO CHRIST

  13. All spiritual blessings are in Christ – Eph. 1:3 Redemption through his blood is in Christ – Eph. 1:7 Salvation is in Christ – 2 Tim. 2:10

  14. No one is saved outside of Christ!

  15. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal. 3:27

  16. 4. B A P T I S M • THE SINNER • AND GETTING INTO THE DEATH OF CHRIST

  17. Christ died that men might be saved To get into his death is to enter the place where one benefits from the blessings that come through his death

  18. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Heb. 9:22

  19. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Heb. 10:4

  20. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Rom. 5:9

  21. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water Jn. 19:34

  22. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Rom. 6:3

  23. And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Acts 22:16 – Sins washed away when baptized

  24. 5. B A P T I S M • THE SINNER • AND • BEING SAVED

  25. Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water… 1 Pet. 3:20-21

  26. [21] The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

  27. 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited[a] in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water… NKJV

  28. 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

  29. because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water… ESV

  30. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

  31. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water (baptism) by the word Eph. 5:25-26

  32. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-9

  33. The evidence we have examined from God’s word proves that no alien sinner can be saved from sin without being baptized by the authority of Christ
