MCG Activities – 1st Year Students • MCG First Year Networking Night : October 20 (New event) • Resume Review: October 13, 14 and 16 • MCG Resume Book: November 7 • MCG Career Forum: November 14 • Lunch ‘n Learns: As per company & topic, most Wednesdays and Fridays • Educational Panels: early October • Case Workshop: January 9 • Social events: One per quarter

Next Steps • Enroll as a member: online through Acteva • Dues: $90 for two years; $70 for one year • Sign up online at MCG website • Google “Chicago GSB MCG” to find our website • We’ll be using Acteva online payment system to collect dues • Note: No need to drop off any checks; Acteva is the only payment method • Information distributed via MCG e-mail list • Submit resume for Resume book by October 27th

  7. Top Myths of Consulting • Only Bain, BCG or McKinsey are worth pursuing • You must attend every Lunch ‘n Learn, networking event, etc. • Applying for certain offices is easier • You should only recruit for consulting

  8. Words of Advice • Make sure your resume is in the MCG Resume Book! • Support your peers • Create a plan!! • Respect 2nd years time up to the end of full-time interview period • Watch your conduct at presentations • Preparation is key • Learn to work in teams • Volunteer
