Functions Carries vitamins A,D,E,K Insulates the body Fats are composed of 3 elements Carbon hydrogen and oxygen The chemical makeup determines the type of fat saturated or unsaturated Saturated fats are when a carbon chain holds all the hydrogen it cans Polyunsaturated is when a carbon chain is missing two or more hydrogen atoms

  3. Food Sources A few examples of saturated fats are Dairy products such as whole milk, butter, ice cream, cheese, (etc.) Some more examples but of polyunsaturated fats are: fish, safflower, sunflower, corn, and soybean oils Examples or monounsaturated: Olive and canola oils

  4. Amount Needed Fats should be eaten in moderation. Around 30% of your daily diet should be fats.
