  5. In the preterite, ONLY ‘-ir’ verbs will stem change • In the preterite, ONLY 3rd person singular/plural forms change (él/ella/ud. + ellos/ellas/uds.) • They do not form a boot, but rather… a Japanese Sandal • ‘O’ changes to ‘U’ • ‘E’ changes to ‘I’
