  5. Prototype Demonstration users • There are 5 users created for the scenarios - • Daniel Beyer - A farmer in Champaign County, Illinois. He grows corn, wheat, soybeans and also raises livestock. He uses the internet to look up information about his farm and the products he grows. He is able to research exporting information on corn, any existing health and safety issues for his livestock, and compare commodity prices to ensure he is getting the best rates for his goods. • Maps & Data, Food Safety Alerts, Trade Information, Customer Statement • John Reilly -A food retailing company analyst and he is on the road many days out of the year for work. He uses the internet to stay in touch with work and to keep abreast of any information that he needs to complete his job. He follows up on commodity trends, researches any food safety alerts in his area, and is interested in exporting information. He frequently takes training through USDA to keep his skills sharp. Finally, he researches grants for which his company is eligible. • Maps & Data, CMIS, Food Safety Alerts, eGrants, Online Training

  6. Prototype Demonstration users • There are 5 users created for the scenarios - • Adam Smith- An executive in the Rural Development mission area. He manages multiple projects and budgets and oversees the grant application review process across all of the RD agencies. He uses the internet to keep information about his projects and budgets across the multiple agencies at his fingertips. He also monitors all incoming grant applications for Rural Development. • My Information Central, Maps & Data, eGrants • Sarah Cooke – An employee with the Food Safety and Inspection Service agency for 7 years. She is on the internet continuously through out the day in order to do her job. She reviews all information available for the different commodities that she monitors and she posts food safety alerts for issues that occur in her commodities. She is also very interested in keeping her skills sharp and learning new ones. • Food Safety Alerts, eLearning • Joan Wilkins - A senior level executive with the Food Safety and Inspection Service. She is responsible for many of the larger scale food safety alerts that are managed by FSIS. She has permissions into very sensitive data about inspections and the discovery of pathogens. Due to her high level permissions, she is able to view very secure data through a username and password that is issued from FSIS. She is using the portal to look up information about a food safety alert from her home computer. • Analytical Tools for PBIS/PREP, Maps & Data

Outstanding Items and Next Steps • Outstanding Items: • Finalize budget, business scenario, storyboards, and site map for Animal Operations • Finalize business scenario, storyboards, and site map for Outreach Reports • Create business scenario functionality and ASP/HTML screens for eExtension • Finalize demo scripts for Customer Statement, Maps & Data, Analytical Tools for PBIS/PREP • The Next Steps in the Prototype Initiative are: • Please send in links to pages if you have not already • Finalize where every page will be hosted • Please send in all links to pages hosted on other servers and demo scripts • If pages will be hosted on the NITC server, please send the files and demo scripts • Finalize and review all demo scripts
